Final Report of the Red Hake Stock Structure Working Group
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS/NOAA Fisheries) and the Assessment Oversight Panel will convene the Red Hake Stock Structure Research Track Assessment Peer Review Meeting for the purpose of reviewing the stock structure of red hake. The Research Track Assessment Peer Review is a formal scientific peer-review process for evaluating and presenting stock assessment results to managers for fish stocks in the offshore U.S. waters of the northwest Atlantic.Assessments are prepared by Stock Assessment Workshop (SAW) working groups and reviewed by an independent panel of stock assessment experts called the Assessment Oversight Panel (AOP). The public is invited to attend the presentations and discussions between the review panel and the scientists who have participated in the stock assessment process, although during the `Report Writing' session on Wednesday, March 11th, and Thursday, March 12th, the public should not engage in discussion with the Peer Review Panel.

Previously, the Red Hake Stock Structure Working Group met January 6-8, 2020 in New Bedford, MA.
As background, this meeting was held to prepare the red hake assessment and ensure the terms of reference were fully addressed in the reports and documents provided to the Stock Assessment Review Committee.
