Add event to calendar: Google Calendar iCal/Outlook
The Northeast Fisheries Science Center is seeking early input from the fishing community and other interested parties to help inform the June 2026 Management Track Stock Assessments for:
- Georges Bank cod
- Atlantic herring
- Georges Bank haddock
- Longfin inshore squid
- Ocean quahog
Specifically, assessment scientists are looking for on-the-water observations or data sets on topics such as distribution, stock health, fishing dynamics and management, and the role these stocks play in the ecosystem.
You can provide input one of two ways:
- Join the webinar on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Webinar registration information is posted on the community engagement webpage. Here is the agenda. And/or
- Fill out the community input form, which is open through April 30, 2025.
Discussion topics include but are not limited to:
- Fishing Dynamics and Management: Changes in fishing techniques, discarding, market patterns, enforcement
- Stock Distribution: Changes in timing, location, depth, size, movement patterns of fish
- Stock Biology: Changes in fish condition, size, spawning timing or location, recruitment
- Ecosystem Interactions: Changes in what fish are eating, predator/prey dynamics, prey availability
