IMPORTANT UPDATE: This meeting, which previously was scheduled to take place January 22-25, 2018, has been rescheduled to April 30-May 4, 2018.
The 2018 Ecosystem-Based Fishery Management (EBFM) Strategy Review is being hosted by the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. The goal of this research-track review is to illustrate how the proposed EBFM strategy and conceptual framework could be applied to provide information needed in fisheries management by the New England Fishery Management Council. This review addresses the resolution by the Council to evaluate worked examples of control rules developed to support the Council’s Fishery Ecosystem Plan initiative and the operating models and supporting data for those worked examples. The review will evaluate simulation studies conducted to assess the performance of management procedures based on specification of system-level catch ceilings and associated measures to ensure conservation of the individual species comprising the functional groups.
